I have been about forty years learning and teaching Economics and, although I am not a Nobel Prize or anything similar, I have some things relatively clear.
Recently, markets are ferociously criticized by many people and I believe it's because they are thinking about sick markets.
How do they differ from healthy markets?
Healthy markets are democratic (government of the people); sick markets are plutocratic (government by the rich). In healthy markets prevails common sense, rationality, trust and fair play. In sick markets prevails aggression, irrationality, the worst instincts, fear and foul play.
Extreme examples. Healthy market: Christmas market. Sick markets: traffic of drugs, weapons, women and, unfortunately, some financial markets possibly related to the above.
